Description:

Refuge is a national charity, which provides a lifeline for women and children experiencing domestic violence. We are currently looking to recruit a new *Female staff member to work with women and children affected by domestic violence.

The aim of this post is to deliver psychological support to women and children living in our refuges through a range of interventions on both an individual and group level. A recognition that the women and children have different, yet overlapping needs, has resulted in a integrated model of service delivery which aims to offer equal, parallel and joint initiatives in response. You should also be able to function within a supportive framework in which women and children work in partnership with specialist staff to determine interventions appropriate to individual needs from a range of options, and which includes working with outside agencies.

For this post you must be a qualified psychologist who has completed their probation period. You should have Chartered status and should have additional counselling or therapy qualifications in relation to working with women and children. You must have knowledge of group dynamics and group interventions for women and children. The use of a car during working hours to travel between sites would be useful but not essential as would the willingness to undertake minibus training.

You must have a commitment to the values of empowerment support and equality which underpin all the work undertaken by Refuge.
