Description:

We are looking for a Somali speaking Independent Domestic Violence Advocate to join our highly experienced team. You will work as part of the Independent Domestic Violence Advocacy Service to provide a pro-active, effective and efficient service within a multi agency setting to female survivors of domestic violence. This will include undertaking risk assessments, providing advice, information and support focusing on improved safety and reducing risk in co-ordination with other agencies. Applicants must have:

A minimum of one year’s experience of working with survivors of domestic violence

An understanding of the effects of domestic violence on women, children and men

Knowledge of the particular needs of Somali women affected by domestic violence

Knowledge of the particular needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender survivors of domestic violence
