Paid and Volunteer Vacancies

- Description:
- Volunteers needed as mentors for Street Cred, a project supporting women in east London set up their own businesses.
- Street Cred is a microcredit project of Quaker Social Action, a regeneration charity working in east London. It provides loans, support and business training to unemployed or low-income women who live in Tower Hamlets, Newham, Hackney or Waltham Forest.
- Mentoring is a way of offering women additional one-to-one support to help them achieve their goals. We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated and reliable volunteers able to commit a minimum of 1 hour every 2 weeks for a period of at least 6 months. This rewarding role includes providing professional support, friendship and encouragement to women starting their own businesses.
- A mentoring relationship is recognised as a strong and constructive one where both people grow through the experience. Volunteer mentors will be provided with training and ongoing support and will gain hands-on experience of working for a grassroots organisation inspiring women to realise their business potential.
