Women's Radio Group : Helpline Volunteers
|
- Group:
- Women's Radio Group
- Position:
- Audio Volunteers
- Description:
- Women's Radio Group has received a grant from Heritage Lottery to mount an audio/photo exhibition about thirty women who carried out extraordinary duties during World War II, breaking through class and traditional barriers and paving the way for today's women to have opportunities and meet achievements formerly denied them. To celebrate these women's achievements Women's Radio Group will resent photographs of these unsung heroines as they are today and as they were during the War years. In addition WRG has undertaken to record audio reminiscences of the women and to edit them to five-minute pieces to accompany the photographic exhibition. The week long 'Home Front Recall' exhibition will be launched at Croydon Airport on 17th May and then will travel to other venues. WRG are seeking volunteers to record the interviews on minidisk and digitally edit them. If you have recording and editing skills we would be very glad to hear from you. If necessary we can arrange access to a computer with a digital editing programme.
